2025 will mark the fourth year of the Staff Experience Survey. We listen to and act on your feedback, making changes informed by what you have shared, including:
- The Vice-Chancellors Awards going from strength to strength with the introduction of new categories, and the greatest number of nominations received since its inception (nearly 400!), enabling even more staff to be recognised.
- Earlier in the year we were proud to be deemed sector-leading in our staff experience in the Inspire HE Rankings. The feedback you provided in the Staff Experience Survey helped us to achieve this and provided insight on how we we can go further to support colleagues and improve the employee experience.
- The launch of the Octopus Electric Vehicle Scheme, providing eligible colleagues with the opportunity to access exclusive rates on flexible lease agreements for electric vehicles.
- Introduction and piloting of new career pathways and promotion routes for Specialist & Supporting Academic (SSA) staff.
- General Assemblies open to all staff, providing updates on our strategy, celebrating our successes and discussing our priorities.
- Our Staff Summer Picnic was jointly hosted by the University Leadership Team and our Trade Unions. The event celebrated the achievements of the year, gave everyone a chance to meet new faces, and find out what’s happening across the University.
- The structure of our Long Service Awards has been adapted to celebrate staff reaching different milestones and recognising more contributions to the success of the University over the years.
