Using engaging illustrations and simple text, the book aims to spark children’s curiosity and introduce them to the technology shaping the future.
Professor Oli Buckley said: “Artificial intelligence is already part of everyday life, yet most conversations about it leave out the people whose futures will be steered by the new technology - the children. The A–Z of AI was created to change that, to help young readers (and their grownups), and teachers explore how AI works and why it matters in a fun, accessible way. I hope it inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and a sense that technology is something they can understand and shape, not just be shaped by.”
The A-Z of AI picture book is available digitally at aiatozbook.com and will also be hosted on the Responsible AI UK website once their resources page is updated later this year.
To support local engagement, Professor Buckley has made several hundred printed copies available to Loughborough University staff and students with children in their lives, as well as to local community members and schools. A limited number of printed copies can be requested by emailing o.buckley@lboro.ac.uk.
In addition, publishing options are being explored to make printed copies available on demand for families and educators soon.
