During the event, students enjoyed delicious food, made new connections, and heard an inspiring keynote from Professor Sam Grogan, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience. Following the Personal Best certificate presentation, students had the opportunity to receive a professional photo for their LinkedIn profiles.
We’re incredibly proud of all the students who achieved the Personal Best Award this year. Their accomplishment will be formally recognised on their degree transcript upon graduation.
A huge congratulations to all 248 Loughborough students who have earned their Personal Best Award so far this year!
Outstanding Achievement Awards
In addition to recognising all Award recipients, we also celebrated six students with an Outstanding Achievement Award for going above and beyond in their Personal Best journey and demonstrating a strong commitment to their reflective practice. These awards were presented during a special evening celebration hosted by the Student Success Academy. It was an evening to remember, complete with a canapé and drinks reception, a sit-down meal and even entertainment from a magician.
Congratulations to this year’s Personal Best Outstanding Achievement Award winners:
- Tasha Fuller
- Lewis Bilby
- Lucy Potts
- Oli Richmond
- Jenson Matos-Sequeira Fernandes
- Chaiara Corti
About Personal Best
Personal Best is designed to help students develop key employability skills alongside their academic studies. The programme includes resources and activities in ‘Badges’, each focusing on a specific skill area such as Leadership, Wellbeing, Research and Study, and Innovation and Enterprise.
To complete the award, students work on activities in the badges and finish with a final reflection which helps them to practise articulating their skills.
Through the induction phase, most students begin their Personal Best journey by completing the ‘Ready, Set, Loughborough’ badge, which counts towards the Award.
The Award supports all students with academic success, skills development, placement preparation, and readiness for the workplace.
There’s still time to complete the Award via the Personal Best website. If you have any questions, feel free to email personalbest@lboro.ac.uk.
More photos from the event plus a clip of Sam Grogan’s speech can be found on the Careers Network Instagram page: @lborounicareers.
