Information about the national annual pay uplift – 2025/26

Loughborough University is a member of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), which represents 138 higher education institutions for the purposes of collective bargaining with recognised trade unions on pay negotiation.

UCEA and the Higher Education (HE) trade unions met on 15 May for the third and final meeting of the Joint Negotiating Committee for Higher Education Staff (JNCHES) 2025-26 pay round.

UCEA made a full and final pay offer of 1.4% with a proposal for implementation from 1 August 2025.

The proposal is now being considered by the national trade unions.

Loughborough University is committed to our participation in the collective pay negotiations and the pay uplift must be affordable for the collective as a whole. We support the outcome of the negotiations, despite the financial pressures facing us locally and across the wider sector.

Further details and the national communication in relation to the offer can be found on the UCEA website.
