Undergraduate Open Days 2025: Parking

On Friday 27 and Saturday 28 June the University will be hosting our first set of summer Open Days.

The open days attract thousands of visitors to the Loughborough campus each year and are a crucial part of the University’s undergraduate student recruitment activity. The events enable Year 12 students and their families to visit academic departments, talk to staff and current students, view accommodation and find out more about sport, recreational activities and why Loughborough is one of the leading universities in the country.

We anticipate that campus will be very busy on these dates with visitors travelling across the country to attend the events. Parking will be especially limited to the west of campus in Holywell Car Park, the Library car park and Car Parks 1, 3 as well as Car Park 5 in the centre of campus. Car Park 18 outside the Brockington and Schofield buildings will also be partially closed for the events.

Where possible, within the requirements of their role, we would ask that staff work from home during the Open Days to allow for increased availability of parking for Open Day visitors. Where appropriate please discuss this with your line manager.

Where working from home is not possible, please consider alternative ways of journeying to campus. There are a number of local bus services into Loughborough and the University’s bus service, Kinch Sprint Bus, will be free of charge across the entire route [including the stops at the train station and in Loughborough town centre] between 07:30 - 18:00. Staff may want to consider carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles on campus or cycling, running or walking to campus.
