Last week, a group of staff from the University’s Human Resources Department spent the day volunteering at Outwoods Primary School.

They painted fences, cleared a pond, dug out allotments and created an outdoor classroom space. Additionally, the team constructed willow structures, decorated friendship benches, and added vibrant floor games, all of which helped to create a more welcoming and fun environment for pupils and staff.

Lisa Williams, Headteacher said: “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for the time, effort, thoughtfulness, and care you brought to our school today. The transformation was truly amazing – your hard work and attention to detail did not go unnoticed.”

Gayle Prockter, Senior Human Resources Business Partner added: “This was a great way for us to give back to our wider community, whilst supporting our own wellbeing and strengthening connections within the team. Being able to take part in opportunities like this reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and taking time out to help others.”
