Adverse weather expected in the coming weeks

Over the coming weeks, snow and ice are forecast across the UK, including both East Midlands and London campuses.

We would like to draw your attention to the Adverse Weather Guidance policy, which provides detailed information for when weather begins to affect University personnel and their ability to travel to, from and around campus.

In summary, in the event of adverse weather, the University will seek to operate as normal, or as close to normal as is possible. In the absence of other information, students and staff should assume that activities are proceeding normally.

The protocol sets out a range of issues including the management of any closures, how to engage with those who cannot travel, safety, event cancellations, and the roles of teams such as Security and Facilities Management.

Currently, all key services are expected to remain open unless stated otherwise, so as not to affect key activities such as coursework deadlines.

Any disruptions announced will be circulated via email, the internal noticeboard, and on Loughborough University’s X account and Facebook page.
