The survey will be live from 1 May and is an excellent opportunity to exercise your voice and shape sport at the University. 

This is the third year the survey has been run and after last year’s results, a number of changes were made in response to feedback from students. 

Growing IMS football opportunities for women 

This year, we introduced a new women’s indoor football league into our IMS programme, expanding our offer for women’s football. This new league provides an inclusive and competitive environment for women to play football at Loughborough. By launching this league, we aim to break down barriers to participation and ensure all students can access the sport they love. 

More recreational sport opportunities 

We now have a minimum of 60 recreational sport sessions every week (apart from reduced timetables during holidays and exam seasons). This means more chance for you to turn up, play, and enjoy sport and physical activity in a relaxed and welcoming environment. 

Support for AU coaches 

We’ve introduced a dedicated AU Coaching Working Group to improve the experience for student coaches. This group is responsible for allocating funding to clubs and delivering coach support sessions, ensuring that student coaches receive the guidance, resources, and training they need to thrive. 

Fairer AU trials 

We’ve developed Trial Guidance and Selection Policy templates for all clubs to ensure a more transparent, consistent, and fair process across all AU clubs. These templates will provide clear expectations for both students and clubs, helping to create a positive and inclusive trial experience. 

Better communication from the AU team 

The AU Exec have launched a monthly newsletter to keep all AU members informed and engaged. This newsletter provides key updates, upcoming events, and important information to ensure you never miss out on what’s happening in the AU community.
