Mentors involved in the programme bring diverse experiences from roles such as CEOs, commercial managers, operations directors, event executives, marketing officers, heads of performance support and physical activity and recreational sport practitioners across the sector.
Mentees can choose from seven pathways to be mentored in:
- Sport Coaching and Teaching
- Sport Officiating
- Sport Business, Management and Leadership
- Performance Support/ Sport Science and Medicine
- Sport Media, Marketing and Communications
- Sport Development and Physical Activity
- Sport Events and Events Management
The Women in Sport Mentoring Programme aims to:
- Empower students who identify as women with practical career advice and insights from sports industry professionals.
- Build connections by fostering relationships between students and experienced leaders within the sport, exercise and physical activity industry.
- Support future leaders who identify as women in developing their career through advice in navigating the sports industry.
Criteria:
Essential:
- Current Loughborough University student.
- Students who identify as women.
- Have a registered profile on the CVA portal.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the sport, exercise and physical activity industry.
Desirable:
- Previously volunteered through the CVA and logged hours on the CVA portal.

Deadline for applications is 10 January 2025. Successful mentees will be notified by the end of January 2025, with pairings being announced shortly afterwards. The mentoring relationship will run from February 2025 to February 2026.
