Calling all students: Donate your unwanted items

The University’s Community Warden team is organising a donation campaign this December to support local charities. The idea of the scheme is that items no longer required can be repurposed and rehomed – giving them a new lease of life and promoting a circular economy by preventing the amount we send to landfill.

The donations will be distributed between several charities, giving students the opportunity to have a positive impact on the environment and on the people in the local community. The charities involved include Living Without Abuse, YMCA Leicestershire, Falcon Support Services Loughborough and local food banks.

How to donate

If you live in either the Burleigh Road, Kingfisher or Storer Road areas, students can book for a collection of their items. On 11 December or 18 December between 9am-1pm, you can leave your donations outside your houses for collection by the Loughborough University Community Warden team. Please fill out the form with what item you are donating, where you live and when you would like it to be collected.

Donation bins will also be set up both on campus in the Herbert Manzoni Building, and in town at St Peter's Church. These donation stations will be set up from Wednesday 11 December and open until Wednesday 18 December.
