Spotlight on Careers: Academic Registry

Last week, Academic Registry held its first ‘Spotlight on Careers’ event with Human Resources.

This event was introduced following feedback from colleagues in last year’s Staff Experience Survey who wanted to understand more about the different career paths available in Academic Registry and across the wider University.

Attendees were fortunate to hear about the fascinating professional journeys of Rebecca Newberry, Learning and Teaching Manager in the School of Science, and Miranda Routledge, Director of Strategic Planning and Chief of Staff. Both had previously worked within Academic Registry, and provided a real insight into their learnings and experiences in their different roles both inside and outside the University.

The focus of the event was very much on empowering colleagues to take responsibility for their own careers, understanding that career paths are not always linear and that careers are very much dependent on the wants and needs of the individual.  This is the first of a series of careers events in Academic Registry and further events will follow.
