Loughborough’s women’s network welcomes new committee members

The Maia network has appointed two new Co-Chairs, an Academic Voice and two Doctoral Researcher Voice roles.

Maia unites women staff and Doctoral Researchers, including trans women and non-binary people comfortable in a female-centred community, across Schools and Professional Services.

The appointments are as follows:

  • Gemma Towle – Co-Chair (previously Operations Lead)
  • Henrietta Pocock – Co-Chair
  • Ellie Gudgin – Doctoral Researcher Voice
  • Esther Mgbemeje – Doctoral Researcher Voice
  • Nicola Jennings – Academic Voice

The Doctoral Researcher Voices are brand new roles, created to ensure that Maia represents the interests of women across the University.

Gemma and Henrietta commented: “We are flabbergasted and truly honoured to have been voted Co-Chairs by the wonderful Maia membership.

“Women are so inspirational, motivational and phenomenal and we’re incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic network that helps to shout it from the rooftops.

“The committee are truly a tremendous group of people and we are very excited to extend a warm welcome to the new committee members. Maia has achieved so much to date and we are really looking forward to continuing onto the next stage of the Maia journey.”
