Changes to academic promotion

Over the summer, the new arrangements for academic promotion have been finalised.

The new documents can be found online. The changes apply to applications for Senior Lecturer, Reader and Professor. Your School will confirm when the autumn School Promotion Committee is to be held. You must submit a complete application to the School Committee before it can be considered at the relevant University Committee in December.

Please note for the next round of Promotion Committees, applications will be accepted using either the previous or the new criteria and process. School colleagues can advise you if you are unsure which option to take. From January 2024, only the new criteria and process will be available.
