This means you can keep up with playing an instrument during your time at University or it might be the time for you to learn something new.
Tuition is currently on offer in clarinet, flute, guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass), piano, saxophone, singing, violin, viola, and other woodwind. Tuition is only open to current Loughborough University students and staff.
If you're interested in an instrument we do not offer, you are welcome to contact LU Arts by emailing LUArts@lboro.ac.uk.
Music tuition charges for 2023/24
- £27 per hour subsidised rate* (for Loughborough University students only including PGT and PGR)
- £34 per hour full rate
* Please note that there is a cap on the total number of hours available at the subsidised rate for 2023/24. Once this has been reached, any further lessons will be charged at the full price. As a guide, this will be a max of eight hours per student per semester.
Unless you're taking singing or piano lessons you will need to bring your own instrument with you. If you're playing electric guitar, please discuss with your tutor what additional equipment you'll need to bring.
How to make an enquiry
To make an enquiry you will need to complete the online enquiry form. Your responses will be sent directly to the relevant tutor. They will contact you to discuss your requirements, the timing and duration of lessons, and so on.
Please allow up to a week for a response once you have submitted your enquiry form as the tutors work limited hours. Once you and the tutor have confirmed arrangements, the tutor will send you a link to pay online for your initial block of eight hours of tuition. If you have not heard back from the tutor in more than a week, then please contact LU Arts by emailing LUArts@lboro.ac.uk or calling 01509 222948.
Please note that the tutors have limited capacity and once this is full, they will not be able to take any further bookings. Places are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
