The screening was open to all and we were pleased to see staff, students and the wider community in the audience. We hope that the documentary was both informative and inspirational for all who attended, particularly the children and young people who joined us.
The documentary raises and confronts a number of controversial issues that have delayed the progress of women’s sport. Not only does the documentary look at women’s sport in the past, but it also looks to the future.
Following the screening of the documentary, Sue hosted a Q&A panel, allowing the audience to share their thoughts and ask some questions.
Panel members included:
Sue Anstiss MBE, women’s sport activist, producer of Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport, author, podcast host, CEO of Fearless Women, Co-Founder of The Women’s Sport Collective.
Jack Tompkins, Director and producer of Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport, Partner at Ben and Jack Studio.
Dr Ali Bowes, Senior Lecturer in Sociology of Sport at Nottingham Trent University. Formerly at Loughborough University. Features in Game On: The Unstoppable Rise of Women’s Sport.
Emma Wiltshire, Athletics Programme Manager at Loughborough University.
Questions were raised not only about women’s sport, but also about the production journey and process, the research undertaken to inform the documentary and how the education curriculum influences involvement in sport.
