Loughborough School of Social Sciences and Humanities is delighted to offer a new Media and Communication MA for 2024 entry.

The Media and Communication MA offers a holistic framework to study various issues and challenges in the field. The programme will be delivered by world-renowned academics who will help students understand the context as much as the text. They will cover theories and issues such as digital media innovations, media and creative industries, big data and AI, disinformation, language and social interaction, and the politics of representation.

Students will develop the skills and confidence to understand the continuities and conditions that influence the fast-changing and fluid field of media and communications, preparing them for various careers. They can also apply their skills and knowledge to a real-world project undertaken in collaboration with a range of media organisations and external partners.

Head of Communication and Media, Professor David Deacon commented: “Communication and Media at Loughborough University is a QS World Top 100 department where graduates from a variety of undergraduate degrees can widen their career opportunities by studying how media and communications shape our society in complex and unpredictable ways. This exciting new programme offers critical perspectives and practical engagement with communication and media in a changing world.”

The programme is open to holders of a 2:2 honours degree with 55% or above (or equivalent international qualification), in a wide range of subjects. Professional experience will be considered.
