Celebrate colleagues pushing the boundaries of learning and teaching practice

Staff members from across the University are invited to attend ‘Spotlight on... Teaching Awards’ to celebrate inspiring colleagues who have developed their own innovative teaching practices.

Taking place on Wednesday 15 November from 1pm-3pm, the event will recognise the winners of this year’s Loughborough University Teaching Awards. This includes recipients of the Teaching Innovation Awards, the Research-Informed Teaching Awards, and the Teaching Best Practice Awards. They will be presented with their awards by the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience, Professor Rachel Thomson.

In addition, the event will also be showcasing our latest National Teaching Fellows, Professor Lorraine Cale and Dr Ash Casey, both of whom are based in the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.

Come along to hear their stories and feel inspired to push the boundaries of your own learning and teaching practice, as well as submit an application for the next Teaching Awards (individually or as a team).

The event takes place in CC029a in the James France Building. Book your place for this event by searching for ‘Spotlight on… Teaching Awards’ on my.HR.

For more information about the Teaching Awards, please contact Jackie Cawkwell in the Enhanced Academic Practice team or visit the dedicated webpages.

The team will also be holding future ‘Spotlight on…’ events throughout the 2023/24 academic year themed around different topics. These events provide opportunities for you to:

  • Showcase your teaching practice

  • Inspire others to be innovative

  • Contribute towards a dynamic and creative learning and teaching community

  • Extend your evidence for impacting and enhancing learning experiences.

More information about future sessions will be shared soon.
