C-DICE celebrates postdoctoral researchers at the National Postdoc Conference 2023

The National Postdoc Conference, hosted on 19 September by C-DICE at Loughborough University, welcomed postdoctoral researchers from around the country to a full day of sessions.

The conference theme was ‘Postdoc Transitions and New Horizons’ – engaging delegates with a wide variety of talks and workshops and providing a platform for researchers conducting sessions for the first time.

The sessions aimed to help them navigate their postdoc journey and thrive in their current role and beyond.

The speakers included Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Executive Chair of Research England and Hetan Shah, Chief Executive of the British Academy, who were welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nick Jennings as part of the morning plenaries. Also presenting were Professor Turi King (BBC’s DNA Family Secrets), Frances Burstow (Director Talent and Skills, UKRI) and Antonia Liguori (Senior Lecturer, Loughborough University) amongst others.

Closing with an awards ceremony hosted by Dr Kathryn North, C-DICE Director and APVC for Climate Change and Net Zero and Professor Sergio Cavalaro, C-DICE Principal Investigator and Associate Dean (Research and Innovation, School of ABCE) ,this event marked the fourth National Postdoc Appreciation Week in the UK and was another milestone in C-DICE’s commitment to postdoctoral development.
