Get involved in the Sustainability Hackathon

Do you have a passion for personal development and for sustainability?

Then the Sustainability Hackathon is the event for you.

The Student Success Academy and LSU Enterprise have organised this hackathon as part of Sustainability Week, which has been generously sponsored by Computacenter, a key strategic partner of Loughborough Sport.*

Taking place on Sunday 12 March, 10am-5pm, teams will be given a challenge at the start and will have to develop solutions across the day to present to a panel of judges. As well as the chance to win a Lenovo IdeaPad each for the winning team, participants will gain and develop lots of skills valuable to future career opportunities.

Students can enter in teams of five or as individuals/smaller groups which will be assembled into teams on the day. Teas, coffees and lunch will be provided.

No prior knowledge of coding is needed – you just need to be enthusiastic about sustainability and challenging yourself to come up with ideas and present them back to our panel of judges.

LSU Enterprise Community Lead, Rachel Curtis said: “This is just the start of the great impact we can make to better improve awareness around sustainability in our student population. I believe this is the first step in protecting our planet for future generations, so we are absolutely thrilled to further develop these collaborations and provide exciting opportunities for students going forward.”

If you have any questions please email successacademy@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk.

Sign up for the hackathon by 9am on Friday 10 March to get involved.

* Computacenter is a leading independent technology business, and they are delighted to continue to support elite-level female and Para Sport programmes as named sponsors.  Computacenter will also aim to recruit top-quality Loughborough students into their award-winning graduate training schemes.
