These opportunities are open to all students on the East Midlands campus and you can apply as an individual or with one other student. Previous coordinators are not eligible to apply.
Speech Bubble Coordinator
If you have a passion for creative writing and performance poetry and want to gain experience in event management and marketing – this could be the role for you.
LU Arts holds two poetry nights each year, with performances from professional poets and an open mic slot. The Speech Bubble Coordinator will earn £400 to deliver these events and the role will include promotion, booking performers and liaising with the LSU Tech Crew to organise technical support.

Student Live Lounge Coordinator
If you love live music and want to gain experience running your own gig – this could be the opportunity for you.
Two Student Live Lounge events take place every year, providing an opportunity for student musicians and songwriters to showcase their talents.
As the coordinator you will earn £400 to deliver these events. Your responsibilities will include promoting the events, booking musicians and liaising with the LSU Tech Crew.

Student Technician
If you have practical skills and are handy with a drill and hammer – this role might suit you.
Some knowledge of AV and being comfortable working with sound and video is preferable but the role mainly requires someone enthusiastic and practical.
The role will include helping put up exhibitions, moving equipment and supporting events by working with technical kit including digital projection and sound equipment.
This is a casual role and you will be paid £11.68 per hour (rising to £11.89 from 1 August 2023). There is a minimum of two hours payment per shift and these will be processed via the Student Ambassador team and paid monthly.
