This year’s theme ‘One Small Change’ was inspired by the University Strategy, encouraging attendees to consider how small changes can have a big impact on learning experiences and pedagogic practice that benefits the student and staff experience.
The event will feature keynote speeches, workshops, opportunities to network as well as a variety of presentations.
The programme for the day is as follows:
- 9.15am-9.45am: Registration and refreshments
- 9.45am-10.15am: Keynote welcome address from Professor Rachel Thomson, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience)
- 10.15am-10.45am: Keynote on Artificial Intelligence, Professor Nick Jennings, Vice-Chancellor and President of Loughborough University
- 10.45am-11am: Break
- 11am-11.40am: Spotlight on Inclusivity – Hear from a range of speakers from across the University who will showcase work and explore inclusive learning and teaching practices.
- 11.40am-12.45pm: Lightning Presentations
- 12.45pm-1.45pm: Lunch and networking
- 1.45pm-3.15pm: Workshops -
- 3.15pm-3.40pm: Student Panel
- 3.40pm-4pm: Networking and close
Workshop themes include how to make your teaching more accessible, how to improve the feedback you provide, and how to utilise AI effectively. Breakout rooms for the Lighting Presentations will cover topics such as gamification, designing assessments, and integrating the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals into teaching. The conference is a great opportunity to network with colleagues across the University and share examples of best practice, in addition to discussing ideas and experiences as well as finding new methods to add to your learning and teaching toolkit.
