Students, alumni and staff at Shanghai event

Loughborough runs welcome event for students in China

The University recently hosted events in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xi’an for offer-holders and their parents.

These are the first in-country events since 2019, following China’s recent open-up policy.

The events saw talks given from Schools and Departments giving attendees a flavour for what life at Loughborough is like and providing a chance to ask questions. Alumni were also in attendance to share their own experiences of studying at Loughborough.

Feedback from the events was very positive:

“Today I’ve got to know so much information about University’s facilities, the study environment and the academic staff which helps me know Loughborough University better.”

“By coming to today’s event, I can truly feel that Loughborough is a big warm family.”

A video greeting from Vice Chancellor Professor Nick Jennings also received high compliments from attendees.

This event is the first in a series of events that will take place in other key international key recruitment regions such as South Asia, South East Asia and Africa.

This series contributes to one of the University’s strategic aims – International engagement and impact.
