IT Services Re-Organisation

IT Services has just completed a significant re-organisation which took effect from 21 June.

These changes have been designed to allow IT Services to respond efficiently and effectively to evolving demands, both internally to the University and externally.

As a result of this change, you may have different colleagues responding to your requests or issues. There is now an expanded Specialist Academic Services team which will be focused on supporting specialist teaching and research activities, ensuring expertise is available across the organisation.

Further changes have focused on how we support teaching environments by consolidating all teaching room technologies, AV or computer based into a single team, improving support and co-ordination. Additional changes have been made to ensure that our teams are able to meet the changing technical demands around security, end user environment and cloud computing.

The teams are currently undergoing a transition period as people move to take up their new roles and responsibilities and processes are bedded in. Recruitment in both technical and management roles across the department is also ongoing, and depending on notice periods, some roles may not have someone in post for up to four months.

During the transition and recruitment period, some calls may take slightly longer than previously expected, but please be assured all urgent requests and calls will be prioritised. We are also seeing high demand due to financial year end and associated kit requests. We are processing these as quickly as we can.

All requests or issues should still be logged via it.services@lboro.ac.uk and if you have any questions, please contact the Service Desk
