School of Social Sciences and Humanities welcomes Dr Dhanasree Jayaram to campus

On Monday (23 January), Dr Duncan Depledge will be welcoming Dr Dhanasree Jayaram to Loughborough.

Dr Jayaram is a Research Fellow at Centre Marc Block, Berlin as part of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s International Climate Protection Fellowship. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Karnataka.

Described as an emerging authority on climate change and security issues – with a speciality focus from the perspective of India – Dr Jayaram will attend an open meeting from 2pm-3pm to discuss shared research interests with other researchers at Loughborough, and to consider possible avenues for future collaboration.

Afterwards, she will present a talk entitled ‘Climatizing’ military strategy? A Case Study of the Indian Armed Forces. Colleagues who have expressed an interest in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities’ Sustainable Transitions Under Environmental Change research challenge are particularly encouraged to attend, with the session running from 3pm-4pm.

Both sessions will be held in B111, Brockington Building. All staff and postgraduate researchers are welcome to attend but are asked to register their interest by emailing Duncan at D.Depledge@lboro.ac.uk.
