Information about University services over the Christmas closure period

Some of our University support services will not be available over the University closure period, from 22 December until 2 January.

Events are being held on campus and virtually for students staying in Loughborough over the closure period, including:

Loughborough Festivities:

  • Boxing Day Bingo and Buffet Lunch: 26 December, 1pm-3pm, The Hub (Student Village)
  • My Lifestyle: Turn up and play Badminton: 27 December, 4pm-5pm, New Victory Hall (Holywell Sports Complex)
  • Cookies and Crafternoon: 28 December, 1pm-2.30pm, Granby Common Room
  • Loughborough Men’s Football: Loughborough vs Hucknall Town FC: 30 December, 3pm kick off, Loughborough University Stadium
  • My Lifestyle: Turn up and play Basketball: 30 December, 3pm-4pm, New Victory Hall (Holywell Sports Complex)
  • New Year’s Eve with the Wardens: 31 December, 9pm-12.30am, Granby Common Room

The University Library and IT Services will be closed over the festive period; remote access will still be available for any lab machines with a power supply to the building they are located in. Visit IT Services’ webpage for more information.

The Warden team will be providing support in halls over the Christmas break, with more information available on the University website.

If you need support throughout the closure period, the following services are also available: 

  • If you are seeking urgent mental health support or advice and you are based in Leicestershire, please call the Central Access Point on 0808 800 3302.
  • If you are not based in Leicestershire, call 111 or, for more urgent concerns about yourself or someone else call 999.
  • If you want to talk to someone who will listen and not judge, the Samaritans are available 24/7 and can be contacted on 116 123.
  •  

The Loughborough University Security team are available 24/7 and can be contacted on 01509 222141.
