Information about fraudulent activity

We are aware that some students have been contacted by fraudsters, impersonating members of University staff.

These calls may involve requests to pay student fees by unofficial routes, or attempt to discuss your personal bank details.

If the University contacts you to discuss your fees, we would never discuss bank details and would always direct you to our official payment routes.

If you are ever unsure whether the person you are talking to is from the University, we recommend that you hang up the call and source the phone number to call directly on the University website.

Please report any suspicious calls to Studentfeepayments@lboro.ac.uk.

If you believe you have given personal information to the caller, we recommend you contact your bank directly, and immediately.

The University closes for Christmas later today (21 December). As a result any call you receive claiming to be from the University's Finance team between now and the New Year will be fraudulent. You should hang up immediately and report the call to us.
