Then LU Arts’ free dramatic writing mentoring programme could be for you.
Carolyn Scott-Jeffs, a successful writer and dramaturg, and lecturer in Creative Writing, will help you develop a script from first idea to submission. The mentoring will run from January to July with 3-5 meetings with Carolyn either in person or online.
You will develop your idea and write a first draft or a long outline of your script, which you will submit to Carolyn for feedback. You can then use this feedback to work on further drafts to submit for feedback. You must be able to commit to meeting deadlines for submitting work to Carolyn and to the meetings to benefit from this programme.
The opportunity is open to all current undergraduate and postgraduate students at Loughborough University, including London students. Please note there are only two places available on this mentoring programme.

Carolyn is a Midlands based writer. Her work for Radio 4 includes Angel of New Street, Square Circle Triangle (nominated for the Richard Imison Award), Tarnished Wings, 21 Conversations with a Hairdresser, 15 Ways to Leave Your Lover, and Jesus, The Devil and a Kid Called Death. She has written for the BBC1 continuing drama, Doctors, and lectures in story design at Loughborough University.
As a dramaturg she recently supported the musical Judy in the West End. Her stage plays include Having it All, Wenches, Out in the Garden (Finborough Theatre, London), Tarnished Angel (Finborough Theatre, London), Elephants, Fanny a New Musichall (winner of Best Production, Birmingham Fest), Wolfie and the Showgirl (winner of Best New Work, Birmingham Fest), Letters to Emma, and Edifying Eddy.
She is currently writing The Bah Humbug Club, a comedy for Lichfield Garrick, that opens 8 December.
