Support Against Breast Cancer by donating bras

LSU Action is working in collaboration with Against Breast Cancer to fundraise in support of breast cancer research.

Donate your spare, old or ill-fitting bras in the donation box outside the Action Office in the Students’ Union. Look out for other donation boxes around campus too.

Bras that are still in good condition will be sent to help women in Togo, Ghana and Kenya set up small businesses. These ventures provide an income to support their families and give local people access to affordable bras that are currently very expensive to produce locally. All bras beyond use will be recycled by a textile company. For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund their research.

Ellie Southern, LSU Action Community Lead said:  “It’s a small gesture that contributes to making a huge difference to people's lives. Get involved by donating any bras you no longer wear, no matter their condition!”

The last day for donations is 9 October but late donations can still be made by popping to the Action Office.
