New Careers Hubs launched

Two new spaces dedicated to Careers have been created on the East Midlands campus for students.

These Hubs have been set up in Stewart Mason 006 (Careers Hub East) and West Park Teaching Hub 007 (Careers Hub West).

Students can drop-in to this space anytime between 11am-3pm, Monday-Friday during term time and can speak to Careers Network staff about any enquiry they may have on topics including:

  • Careers and Employability (eg CVs, covering letters and applications)
  • Personal Best and Skills for Academic Success
  • Entrepreneurship and Skills Development
  • Placements, Internships, and Graduate Roles

As well as answering any enquiries you have, staff will be able to signpost you to further information and provide advice on which opportunities are most beneficial to you, eg Business and Enterprise Coaching (Loughborough Enterprise Network), Academic Success Coaching and other programmes from the Student Success Academy.

In addition to launching the Hubs this week, the Careers Network revealed the first of their new Futures identities: Early Futures, Finalist Futures and Diverse Futures, with three more to follow in Semester Two. These identities aim to ensure that opportunities are communicated with purpose to students, personalised to them based on the stage they are at within their university journey. Careers Network marked this occasion with the release of five new checklists for cohorts from first year through to final year featuring their top ‘eight things to explore’ in career planning and skills development.

Professor Rachel Thomson, Pro Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Experience said: "It's really important to me that we continue to ensure that we provide outstanding support to our students for their future careers and make it as easy as possible for them to drop in and chat with our excellent Careers staff at a time when it's most convenient for them.

“Loughborough students and graduates always make me very proud, and I know that with our support they will go out and have a real and significant impact on the world in all that they go on to do.

“Many congratulations and a sincere thank you to everyone involved in the launch, and I look forward to seeing the Hubs go from strength to strength."
