The work, which involves resurfacing, refurbishment of bridge joints, road markings and road studs, is scheduled for completion by May 2022.

The work will take place overnight as follows:

• 11pm-5am, Monday to Friday – M1 southbound carriageway
• 8pm-6am, Monday to Friday – the MA/A42 southbound exit slip road

During these hours, there will be a full closure of the M1 southbound carriageway between Junction 23a and 23, including the southbound exit slip road, and A453 entry to M1/A42 southbound at Junction 23a.
