First Steps support group for athletes and those in competitive sport

First Steps ED are starting a four-week support group from next Wednesday (2 March) for athletes and those in competitive sport, focusing on ensuring and developing a positive relationship with food and exercise.

The sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams and are open to anyone in competitive sport who feel they may benefit from the information and support. Those attending do not need a diagnosis – the sessions are for anyone who feels their relationship with food/exercise is not a healthy one. Each week a different topic will be unpacked around the challenges faced as an athlete in relation to food, exercise, body image and identity.

Those who would like to join the sessions can sign up here.

First Steps is a charity for people who are affected by eating difficulties and disorders. It offers a friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere for anyone who is having difficulties with food-related issues.
