Coming soon: New campus printers to be installed

Over the coming months, Creative and Print Services will be replacing the self-service MFD printers across campus.

These new printers will look very similar in design and will work the same way as the ones already in use. You will continue to have the flexibility to print to any device across campus using your ID card and have the ability to copy and scan. The process for students to purchase and spend print credits will also remain the same.

However, installation of the replacement printers brings a host of additional benefits, including:

  • Added security: User documents will be confidential and secure
  • New intuitive user interface with a modern, larger display screen to help you manage your printing
  • Sustainable printing: Fewer printers will be installed in response to user needs following the pandemic, saving energy costs and reducing paper usage which helps to meet the University’s sustainability targets.

Creative and Print Services will shortly be in touch with Schools and Departments to provide more information about when the work will take place in their local areas and how they will be affected. The intention is that this project will remove the barriers of separate staff and student printers so that they are placed in locations accessible to everyone.

The project aims to be completed by 1 August 2022.
