Being an inclusive member of the Loughborough University community

At Loughborough University, the values of equity, diversity and inclusion are embedded into all aspects of student life, whether it be in halls of residence, working together for coursework, or within clubs and sports.

Every member of our community has a responsibility to promote equality, dignity, and mutual respect; we encourage students and staff to challenge incidents of hurtful and discriminatory behaviour on campus.

Reports of prejudice, discrimination and bias on campus are taken extremely seriously, with effective policies and procedures in place to deal with complaints of this nature. We stand together with those subjected to abuse to ensure that perpetrators of indecent behaviour will face the appropriate consequences for their actions.

These procedures are integral to how we operate as a University, however we are committed to do more to foster a positive environment on campus. We are committed to working with our students and staff to ensure every member of our community is supported and can identify as part of our community. We continue to listen to the voices of our community and provide opportunities for students and staff to share ideas and bring about positive change.

The University is committed to improving equity, diversity and inclusion for all members of the community.

Extended support for students with circumstantial needs can be found on the University website.
