6 weeks to go

  • Celebrate your success and get involved on social media! #LboroFamily
  • Check to see when you can apply for your room in halls of residences Info
  • Look out for an email containing instructions on accessing your IT credentials and follow the steps Info
  • Using your IT credentials (and a photo that fits our guidelines), register online Register
  • Apply for your visa (once you have received your CAS) Apply

5 weeks to go

  • Join the Freshers Facebook group and start making friends with other students Join group
  • Download your free student IT software, including Microsoft Office and antivirus protection Info
  • Check whether you require any vaccinations
  • Write a packing list. Don’t forget your important documents! See page 18 of the Pre-departure guide Info
  • Start preparing for study and get your first Personal Best badge Info

4 weeks to go

  • Book your flights (once you have received your visa) Info
  • Book your place on our free coach pick up service from Heathrow airport Book
  • Register online with our campus Medical Centre Register
  • Check out our sporting programmes and gym memberships Info
  • Get stuck into our student blogs Blogs
  • Share any health / disability related requirements for living or studying via the Disability and Health Portal Share

3 weeks to go

  • Start a budget plan – be realistic and allow some flexibility Budget
  • Get to know your new home and find out what’s around on campus and in town Info
  • Check your emails and our accommodation portal for anything else you need to do regarding accommodation Info

2 weeks to go

  • Download the myLboro app and sign in with your IT credentials to access your timetable, emails and more App
  • Follow Loughborough Students’ Union on social media for welcome announcements
  • Familiarise yourself with the support available from IT Services Info
  • Check your emails to see if you have received a course reading list Check
  • Review your progress with your first Personal Best badge. You still have a few weeks to go to complete it Review

1 week to go

  • Make sure you have everything packed - check out our packing blog for inspiration List
  • Look at the clubs and societies on offer, including those for your country or culture Info
  • Find out the address of your hall and where you can collect post, parcels and other goodies Info
  • Familiarise yourself with the safety measures that are in place on campus to keep everyone safe and healthy Info

The day before you leave

First week

  • Collect your BRP from the Student Office of local Post Office Info
  • Attend the International Student Registration event – don’t forget your passport! Info
  • Join in the Welcome Week activities
  • Open a bank account (using a registration letter from the Student Office)
