If you wish to book a seat on one of the coaches please complete and return the form at least 14 days before your flight. If you do not return a booking form, we cannot guarantee a place on the airport coach.
Normally this free coach service is solely for new international students who will be studying at Loughborough University. However we may be able to accept additional passengers, such as accompanying friends and relatives (other than family dependents), if there are seats available. The fee for additional passengers is £20.
We recommend that you bring two suitcases and one hand luggage maximum. Please note that students will be expected to handle their own luggage on and off the coaches.
Please note that if your flight is delayed, it will not be possible for the coach to postpone its departure beyond 11am.
Where do you meet to be picked up?
The meeting point will be to the side of the Terminal 2 Arrivals Meeting Point, near the Airport Information Desk. Loughborough University staff and/or students will be at the meeting point from around 11am and will be clearly identifiable by signs and/or t-shirts with the Loughborough University logo.
If you arrive at Heathrow Terminal 4 or at London Gatwick Airport North Terminal there will be information desks there which you will be able to approach and obtain information about getting a transfer to Heathrow Terminal 2 if you wish to use this coach service.
If you're attending a pre-sessional English course, there are set dates for you to book your coach. These coaches will drop students off at the designated Hall of Residence. On other dates, the coaches will take students to their Hall of Residence (where it is known), or onto campus where there will be a minibus service for smaller off-campus residences. New students will take priority when transferring to transport for accommodation off campus.
If you have any questions please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.
Update: Heathrow Airport Coach Collections
The UK Government currently requires individuals who arrive in the UK from certain countries to self-isolate for 10 days.
If you are travelling from a country that is listed here you are not required to self-isolate on arrival into the UK. All other students will be required to self-isolate, including those who have made a transit stop through a country that is not shown on this list.
We have therefore arranged a number of free coach collection options for students arriving in January into London Heathrow Airport, London.
Heathrow Airport coach collection dates
Thursday 14 January
Thursday 21 January
Monday 25 January
Please note: Any additional services will be listed on this page subject to Government guidelines on in-person teaching.
We would recommend that you closely monitor the UK Government list as changes may be made in the weeks leading up to your arrival.
Further details relating to self-isolation for students living on or off campus, including information for visiting parents, can be found on our Self-isolation page.
