All good things must come to an end, and that includes this journey around Burleigh Wood. We hope you have enjoyed exploring the woodland and have developed a curiosity to look beyond the obvious. This is an incredibly special place.  Whilst it’s industrial history might have come to an end, it is now a vital place for our health and wellbeing. However, woodlands like this are not static and are changing. They are subject to the immense human derived forces that are re-shaping this planet. The climate is changing at the fastest rate in history and the global extinction rate is over a thousand times higher than it should be.  Burleigh Wood is not immune from this and requires our special care and consideration.  Listen as we explore the challenges faced by ancient woodlands like this and what can be done to safeguard these amazing places for future generations to love and enjoy.
