Give'n'Go

Give n Go logo

Packing up to leave halls? Got a bunch of stuff you no longer want or need? Before you bin it, give it.

Give’n’Go is a campus-wide campaign aimed at diverting as many items from general waste as possible and donating them to charities when students move out of halls at the end of the year.

It is incredibly important that we continue to donate, particularly to foodbanks, during the current coronavirus pandemic. Although some charities are not currently accepting donations, we are able to store your unwanted items for you and will donate them when it is safe to do.

This year’s Give’n’Go is a non-contact campaign. This means you will be responsible for sorting and donating your items, but we have made it super simple for you!

What can I donate?

How do I donate?

You can leave freezer donations in your freezer for safe storage. We will collect these once all students have vacated.

For all other donations, please bring your own boxes or bags, place your unwanted items for donation into the box/bag and take to your nearest donation point. There will be posters on the buildings of donation points to help you locate them.

Please remember to wash your hands according to NHS guidelines before and after using any common touchpoints such as doors. There will be anti-bacterial handwash and gel available.

Where do I donate?

Please take your donations (not freezer food) to the donation point nearest to your hall

Want more general information about collecting your stuff?

The University will contact you via email when you are able to collect your things and instructions for this process. It is imperative that you do not return until you have received these instructions from the University as this process needs to be phased in alignment with social distancing precautions. You can find more details on the coronavirus student FAQS page here.

Where can I find updates on the campaign?
