Software and Computer labs

To help find the labs and software you need, we have the Computer & Software Availability system with built-in campus maps.

As a Student you can download specialist software via the 'Software Downloads' module on LEARN – you will need to self-enrol to gain access to the software.

Daily System Reboot Policy

To ensure optimal performance, security, and system consistency across our Windows lab environments, all lab computers are automatically rebooted each morning at 6:00 AM. This scheduled reboot facilitates the removal of user profiles older than seven days and allows pending software installations and Windows updates to complete successfully. In dual boot labs, an additional reboot occurs at 7:00 AM to set the default operating system for the day, ensuring a consistent user experience and proper system configuration.

Computer labs are managed by IT Services, and there are several that can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These are accessible to all students.

School-managed labs have restricted access and are only available to those who belong to the specific school/department.

The Teaching Support Team is responsible for the audio visual equipment in all centrally bookable rooms and spaces. Information about pool space; including building locations, photographs, equipment and features is available to view using the link below
