In recent years, the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry has exploded and is becoming the default model for IT systems delivery. You may have already signed up for one of these. If you have ever used a video streaming service or video chat service, then you have used a SaaS product.

Microsoft Teams Phone service - Have you migrated?
So far, IT Services has successfully migrated 80% of users to the Microsoft Teams Phone service. This new service is a replacement for the University Cisco telephone system which will cease operation on Monday 1 July.

Change Champions - Windows 11 upgrade
IT Services is delivering a project to upgrade all University Windows devices (laptops and PCs) to Windows 11, the new Microsoft Operating System (OS).

Computer labs freeze 2024/25 academic year
There will not be the normal software request process for computer labs this year as it has been agreed by the University that all software, hardware, and operating systems in computer labs across both campuses will remain unchanged for the 2024/25 academic year.
This will allow IT Services to be able to deliver key projects including the mandatory Windows 11 upgrade, Digilabs and vital security work in support of research. -
