VIP parking and exemptions
The University’s VIP Car Parking Exemption Policy has been established to provide guidelines for granting parking exemptions to individuals or groups deemed eligible for VIP privileges. The purpose is to ensure fair and efficient use of parking facilities while accommodating the needs of designated VIPs.
Eligibility: University Council, Visiting Academics or key representatives of partner organisations [Industry and HE] including donors and certain Alumni may qualify for VIP parking privileges.
Application Process: Please send details of the visitor[s] including vehicle registration information to parking@lboro.ac.uk.
Applications are required to be submitted no less than 24 hours prior to the exemption date to ensure adequate processing time by the Parking Team. Requests submitted after this period may not be approved.
Applications should include supporting text indicating how the visitor meets the eligibility.Departments are requested to confirm how (why are they a key representative, who is the partner organisation, where are they visiting from, etc) the guest(s) meet the criteria for a VIP parking exemption.
The Parking Team will confirm once the exemption is in place and VIP parking exemptions will be granted only during the performance of official duties or attendance at University events, the exemption should not be used for general access to campus.
Exemptions are valid for a specified time period and may be subject to renewal upon reapplication. Individuals with VIP parking exemptions are expected to comply with all other parking regulations and facility rules and violations of the VIP Car Parking Exemption Policy may result in the revocation of privileges.
VIP Reserved Parking Bays: @Security requires 24 hours' notice to reserve a limited number of VIP parking spaces on Union Way.
Event-Specific: Exemptions granted for events are limited to the duration of the event and its immediate setup and breakdown periods.
This policy will be subject to periodic review and may be amended as necessary. Suggestions for improvements or changes can be submitted to the Parking Team
