Alumna cycles to raise money for cancer
Jane Giffould (née Giffin), who graduated with a degree in Humanities Technology in 1971, has been fundraising for cancer charities since 2021 by cycling 1,000 miles in 100 days on an annual basis.

Alumnus continues to utilise design engineering skills gained at Loughborough in his retirement
Chris Gibson graduated from Loughborough with a DLC qualification in General Engineering in 1966. He gained many skills during his time at Loughborough that supported his career in engineering-related roles. Now into his retirement, Chris is supporting people in his community by utilising his design and engineering skills as part of Remap, an organisation that custom-makes equipment to help disabled people to live more independently. Professor Noman Ahmed, who has a PhD in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University, has been appointed a UNESCO Chair. NED University of Engineering and Technology in Pakistan will be establishing a network on Sustainable Urban Regions as part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
