Postgraduate checklist

Before you arrive and on your arrival, there are several important tasks that you need to complete. We have listed them all here for you, along with links to useful information to help you get prepared.

6 weeks to go

  • Celebrate your success and get involved on social media! #LboroFamily
  • Look out for an email containing instructions on accessing your IT credentials and follow the steps IT credentials
  • Set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) on your device MFA
  • Using your IT credentials (and a photo that fits our guidelines), register online Register
  • Share any health/disability related requirements for living or studying via the Disability and Health Portal Share
  • If you are an International student, apply for your visa (once you have received your CAS) Apply

5 weeks to go

  • Check if you require any vaccinations. We strongly encourage you to have the Covid vaccination before you arrive Vaccinations
  • Download your FREE student IT software, including Microsoft Office Download

4 weeks to go

  • Register online with a local GP Register
  • Get stuck into our student blogs and YouTube channel – preparation is key! Blogs

3 weeks to go

  • Get to know your new home and find out what’s around on campus Campus

2 weeks to go

  • Download the myLboro app and sign in with your IT credentials to access your timetable, emails and more App
  • Follow Loughborough Students’ Union (LSU) on social media for welcome announcements
  • Familiarise yourself with the support available from IT Services IT Services
  • Review your Student Handbook Handbook

1 week to go

  • Look at the clubs and societies on offer, as well as LSU sections you might want to get involved with LSU
  • Find out the address of your hall and where you can collect post and parcels Post

The day before you arrive

  • Make sure you know where you’re going and how to reach us Directions

Arrival week

  • Collect your student ID card and keep it safe. You’ll need ID ID card
  • If you are an International student, and your BRP is not being delivered to the University, collect it from the Post Office Collect
  • Attend the International Student Registration event – don’t forget your passport and visa! Attend
