University Mental Health and Wellbeing Day

Join us to mark University Mental Health and Wellbeing Day, and/or hold your own event! This is an annual evant aiming to focus efforts that promote the mental health of people who live and work in Higher Education.

The Day was initiated by UMHAN, and on Uni MH & WB Day 2014, Loughborough Students’ Union and Loughborough University signed the Time To Change Pledge to show our commitment to tackling the stigma of mental health.

Time to Change pledge

It is extremely important that all of our students and staff have the knowledge and attitudes to reduce stigma and help overcome some of the difficulties faced by anyone with mental health problems. Celebrating the Day shows our continued effort to highlight that mental health can be talked about and that discrimination is a thing of the past.

Anyone who values mental health in Higher Education are welcome to contribute to our success in raising awareness and challenging stigma.

This year, the theme of Uni MH & WB Day was choosing to disclose your mental health difficulties, whether this be to your University or to your support networks, whether this be to your university or to your support networks. Join the discussion on Twitter using #IChoseToDisclose

Feel free to use our Uni MH & WB Day 2015 Slides to promote the day.

A range of fun events, activities, talks, music, and opportunities to discuss mental health were available at the Student's Union, and you can see more here:
