Artist residencies and commissions

We work with a wide range of artists to deliver many aspects of our programme.

Every year there are lots of opportunities for artists to work with us on delivering our student-focused programme. From workshops and short courses to one-off commissions and artist residencies.

In addition to this we have our contemporary art programme, Radar, where we invite artists to produce new work in response to and as part of research undertaken across Loughborough's two campuses (Loughborough and London).

If you are an artist and you are interested in working with us then please get in touch by emailing

Eccleston Student Engineering Centre Sculpture Competition

LU Arts is delighted to announce a competition to produce a new sculptural work for our East Midlands campus.

Funded by a donation from Barry and Valerie Eccleston, the competition is open to all current Loughborough University students, as well as those who have graduated from the University (including Loughborough University London) from 2010 onwards.

The work is to adorn the exterior wall of the Eccleston Student Engineering Centre, which provides space and equipment for students to conduct extra-curricular engineering experiments.

A budget of £10,000, fee of £3,000 and mentorship will be available to enable the realisation of the work, which is to be unveiled at the start of the 2021/22 academic year.

There will also be two runner-up prizes of £500.

The deadline for proposals is midday, Wednesday 25th November 2020.
