Collecting your BRP

When and how to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (Student visa holders)

Students at the Loughborough campus

If you nominated the University as the collection point for your BRP, it should be available at the International Registration event (appointment required). After registration has finished, collection can be made from the Student Records Counter, Rutland Building. You must bring your passport.

If you are studying at the London campus, you should not use the University's ACL code in your visa application and should instead collect your BRP from the designated Post Office.

Dependants

If you are collecting BRPs on behalf of your dependants, you must show their passports but your dependants do not need to be present.

Collection from a Post Office

If you are collecting your BRP from a Post Office, you are encouraged to do this prior to attending the International Registration event to obtain your University ID card. If you are unsure of the location of your BRP, you should log back into your visa application on the UKVI website to check the details.

If you are issued with your student ID card prior to collecting your BRP, you must present your BRP before the expiry of your 90-day vignette. Failure to do so will lead to you being placed on a leave of absence and your Student visa sponsorship being withdrawn.

Visa extension applications

If you applied to extend your visa from within the UK and are issued with a BRP this will be delivered to the address provided in your visa application. You must present your BRP at the Student Records Counter, Rutland Building. (Loughborough campus students), or the Student Services desk in London (London campus students) within five days of receipt. Failure to do so will lead to you being placed on a leave of absence and your Student visa sponsorship being withdrawn.
