Staff IT account

Introduction to your IT account

You now have your new IT account. Below is information around what you can do and what are you entitled to with this account

Staff Account

Your IT staff account is created on or up to 55 days before employment start date is logged on the HR/Payroll system. This includes all salaried and casual contracted staff, as well as imago Ltd and Nursery staff. Casual Register employees are also created a staff account, if they do not already have a University student account.

If you are a Casual employee only (including Postgraduate University Teachers), and also a student, you will not be created a new staff account and you will be able to use your @student account for casual working. This relies on your student number being present and correct on your employment detail when applying through the Casual Portal. Please follow the link at the bottom of the page for more information on Casual working processes.

*Please note, if as a casual working student, you start any form of substantive salaried employment, you will receive an automatically created staff account, as well as your existing student account.

All staff accounts and employed @student accounts will allow access to my.HR, the University’s employee self-service. For casual employees, your user will gain access to Dashboard, the casual working system. Your department colleagues will be able to assign you access to further systems and services, using your University user now findable in the Outlook address book.

You will only receive 1 staff user account, no matter how many positions of employment you hold. Only 1 department you belong to will have automatic membership to departmental mailing lists or workspaces, so where further departments are required colleagues will need to assign you manually.

Account request and creation

If you are not familiar with the University’s Recruitment policies and processes, please visit the HR Recruitment and Probation page via the button below.

Once you have advertised a recruitment campaign and appointed a candidate through HR, the employee will be automatically generated an account. There are some non-advertised professional relationships are treated as staff due to the nature of user access.
