As part of your Office 365 account, Loughborough students have access to cloud storage via OneDrive for Business

Computer labs
When using computers on campus (in person or remote access) always remember to check that your work has backed up to your OneDrive account (blue cloud icon on bottom menu bar) before signing out.
Download for personal devices
The OneDrive Sync Client allows you to save files directly to your OneDrive storage space similar to saving to your Documents. This is quicker and easier than uploading via the web version of OneDrive.
Getting Started with OneDrive for Business
OneDrive for Business provides you with:

- Automatic syncing and backing up of files
- Quick and easy recovery of deleted files
- Streamlined accessibility from any device and any location
- Ability to share and edit documents alongside others.
First-time Setup:
Visit https://lunet-my.sharepoint.com to access the web version of OneDrive for Business
Click to download OneDrive to your device
You will be shown the location of your OneDrive folder. You can change this by clicking Change location, though we recommend leaving it as default and clicking Next.
Install OneDrive on Mac OS
You can download the OneDrive for Business Sync Client through the App Store (Note: Requires Mac OS X Catalina 10.15 or above)
IMPORTANT: If you are currently using the OneDrive Mac Store app, you must first uninstall it before installing the latest build of the new OneDrive sync client.
Search and select OneDrive in the App Store from your Mac.
Once downloaded the app will open automatically.
Alternatively, it can be opened by selecting the following: Finder > Applications > OneDrive.
What is OneDrive for Business?
OneDrive for Business is the Microsoft cloud storage service that comes with your Office 365 account. It provides you with a place to store, share and sync work files with anyone and on any device.

What is the difference between OneDrive for Business and just OneDrive?
You may already have OneDrive at home with your free consumer Microsoft/Outlook.com account. This is a personal/consumer service and is not provided or managed by IT Services at Loughborough University.
IT Services provide your OneDrive for Business for University related purposes. Your OneDrive for Business is managed by Loughborough University and lets you share and collaborate on work documents with co-workers.
How do I access OneDrive for Business?
OneDrive for Business can be accessed via a web browser at https://lunet-my.sharepoint.com.
In University provided computer labs you will access your OneDrive for Business by using the web browser or the internet shortcut provided on the desktop.
How can I access my files if I forget my OneDrive for Business password?
If you forget your University log-in/password, please follow the guidance on our password guidance pages.
How can I access my files if I delete them from OneDrive for Business?
You can restore them from the Recycle Bin following the guidance from Office Support: Finding lost/missing files & Restoring previous document versions.
Are there any restrictions when saving to OneDrive for Business?
There are some restrictions and limitations when you sync files and folders, including certain strings in filenames such as COM[1-9], LPT[1-9], NUL and AUX. For a full list please see here. Can I change the account I use with OneDrive?
You can change the account you use with OneDrive, but you can't use the folder with multiple accounts at the same time.
To change the account you use with OneDrive:

Right-click the OneDrive icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar. (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the icon.)

On the Settings/Accounts tab, click Unlink OneDrive.

Restart OneDrive and sign in with the account you want to use. You'll need to select the location for your OneDrive folder again. If you select the same location, the folders for both accounts will be merged. If the PC had the Fetch files feature turned on, you'll need to turn it on again.
