Research and teaching

Be part of a research culture that inspires and supports you

At the heart of our ethos is our commitment to developing research of the highest level, that both informs academic practice but is also instrumental in shaping and influencing the wider world. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), 86% of our business and management research was rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

As you join our inspiring academic community, you’ll be supported to develop your own research skills as you work on pressing challenges confronting organisations and governments today.

Work with expert academics

You’ll benefit from being taught by expert academic staff, many of whom have first-hand experience in business, finance, management and government policy. Our academics bring the latest research insights into the classroom, as well as commercial best practice from our consultancy and partnerships with hundreds of organisations across the planet.

Links with industry

Business education is more effective (and interesting) when it’s practical. Which is why many of our programmes also offer projects, guest lectures and workshops from industry partners, and extracurricular masterclasses.

Several of our master’s have been designed in partnership with leading companies to make sure they’re geared towards what today’s employers are looking for.

We also work in collaboration with the EFMD Global Network, to give you access to potential internships, trainee positions, apprenticeships and graduate positions in companies worldwide.

Facilities

Studying at Loughborough Business School means you’ll have access to well-equipped facilities across campus, from our well-stocked library and spacious study areas, to computer labs and the latest audio-visual equipment to support your learning.

In addition, the 'LB Hub' within the Business School provides a contemporary space to study, collaborate, refuel and recharge.

If you study a finance degree with us, you’ll also have regular access to our Trading Room which incorporates Refinitiv Workspace software – to enable you to practically apply the concepts you learn on your programme.

Accreditation

Loughborough is one of a small number of business schools in the world to hold three accreditations (from AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA). These marks of approval validate the quality of our teaching, research, student support and facilities at a global level. We also hold the UK’s Chartered Association of Business Schools’ ‘Small Business Charter’ for our work in enterprise.

Many of our programmes are also directly accredited by, recognised or affiliate members of relevant professional bodies and provide exemptions from professional exams. This includes accreditations with the ABP, BPS, CIM, CIMA, CFA and CIPD.

Career opportunities

Thanks to the innovative and future-focused nature of our programmes, our graduates are highly sought after by employers for their well-rounded expertise and skills. Many go onto have impactful careers in leading organisations, or to set up their own successful ventures.
