Mercy Corps aims to enhance and bridge the technical capacity of its Iraqi engineering department to design an appropriate and cost effective community water projects. In addition, Mercy Corps want their technical staff to have the capacity to determine the water quality and undertake simple treatment exercises. A two-part training course was prepared and delivered on boreholes, pumping, piped water distribution and water quality for engineers working on reconstruction of urban water systems in post-conflict Iraq.
