Summary of project activities and outcomes:

WEDC facilitated and led an international workshop to develop a better understanding of common WASH technical challenges associated with response to natural disasters in urban contexts and to develop recommendations for future responses. The workshop included a 'case study review' of WASH technical challenges, good practices and lessons learned from recent floods in Haiti, which has been classified as a 'failed state', and helped build consensus about good practices, approaches and strategies for improvement on future responses in Haiti and other urban contexts.
